Google reflection

Google practical project was useful because I had to learn about Google tools which I had no idea about before.

There are plenty of tools offered by Google to make our life easier for example Google Chrome which is a web browser with many features like it’s secure, I can customize it and it fast. Also, I use Google Docs to Store the documents online and to share the documents with colleagues to allow them to edit the information instead of send it forward and backward by e-mail. In addition, I learned about Google reader and used it to keep up to date with topics of interest, Recommend and share articles with my friends, Follow people with the same interest of main and to share articles with friends and write comments. Moreover, I like to use Google Desktop because it allows me to o search multiple file types so I can find anything easily and quickly, the different gadgets to help me organize my time such as Google Calendar to remain me about deadlines I have to meet. Also, I like to keep up-to date of the world news where I can easily see all world news and Life style gradates remained me to drink water every 30 minutes and to exercise every once in a while. Furthermore, using Picasa was fun to create nice things by photos for example creating collages and movies. Also I can use the basic editing option to fix read eyes, cope and add special effect and colors on the pictures. As well, I used to use Google searching to search only but now I know about the options of Google. Also, I used Google sites to create a site to document the usefulness of Google tools and how did I used them and the advantages of Google sites are simple and easy to learn and use, no software installation required and I can upload file up to 100MB in size. Moreover, I use Google toolbar to make the internet browser more efficient and searching for information easier. Furthermore, I used Google blogs because it’s easy way to communicate with others by social networking and to write my important things that happen in my life. Also, I like to use Google Blog Search to view blogs from all blogs sites, search for a specific topics blog and I use the blog alert to send me an e-mail of topics I interested when it’s happen.

Volunteer in Dubai

In my way to college I was listening to Dubai Eye radio station and in the Dubai Today program they introduced a lady called Lola Lopez she is the founder of Volunteer in Dubai. Where she makes projects for schools and companies where they can help in many issues such as assisting special needs kids, helping in recycling papers and offering food for the hungry people in Dubai. Personally, I think her projects are interesting and unique because it is non government organization since all the volunteering and helping the others in the UAE is held by the government.

My thoughts for my life after graduation

I have many goals that I want to achieve after graduation for Dubai Women's College which will be on June o9. I will write down my thoughts here because I don't want to forget them as well as I will write any new idea will come to me.

• I want to learn French.


• I want to learn sign language and volunteer in a special needs school to learn from the people there because in my point of view there have philosophy in life and great thoughts but we don’t give them the chance to express it.


• I want to travel to specific countries: Japan, Franc, Italy, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. I want to go to these countries for no specific reason.
  

Du…..add life to life

One of the company visits profile I will always remember is Du which is telecommunication company in Dubai. There is something I realized that the employees are so friendly and would love to assist us by anything we want and offer any kind of help and they looked more concern about our project more than us. But most significant thing that I noticed there that the employees was Happy!

The sight of the offices was so nice its view on the Palm Island. Also, the starting time of the work day is flexible were the employees can come from 7:30 am to 9:30 am but anyway they have to work for 8 hours a day plus they have one hour break. Moreover they are commitment to the Emirati community were they offer training program to the Emiratis. When I will graduate I will definitely consider Du as one of the companies I will apply for.

The Marketing Research Survey

This week two of my classmates and I went to fill 100 survey about a hotel in Dubai for our Marketing Research Project. I was surprised because a lot of people didn’t want to fill the survey even though it takes only about 5 minutes. Why some people don’t like to help?
Yet we managed to have the number of people we targeted by going there for two days in a row. Also, we submitted the report on time.

Google Wave

Google have a new tool which is Google wave it is amazing and useful.

Google Calendar

I didn’t like the idea of Google Calendar because I used to download a calendar template on an Excel sheet and I can see it or edit easily without the need to internet access.

Because in our house the wireless system is horrible even though we have 2 Al Shamil boxes! I can only get a wireless connection on the room with an Al Samil box. Maybe the walls are too thick!Yet I edit my projects deadlines on Google Calendar but I hardly review it.

I’m still old fashioned and I like the calendar on an Excel sheet.
